Instructor Detail
Instructor: Cynthia Gayton
Title: Esq.
Biography: Cynthia M. Gayton, Esq. holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Affairs from The George Washington University and a Juris Doctor degree from George Mason University School of Law. Cynthia is a member of both the State Bar of Virginia and the District of Columbia Bar. She has a legal practice, Gayton Law, in Arlington, Virginia with a concentration in small business formation, intellectual property, information technology, and business transactions/contracts. In addition, Ms. Gayton is a Professorial Lecturer in Engineering Management and Systems Engineering at The George Washington University where she has taught since 2003. She has worked at the Department of the Interior as an Attorney-Adviser in the Branch of Acquisitions and Intellectual Property and was an associate at Morgan Lewis & Bockius in the DC Office, concentrating in complex antitrust litigation. Ms. Gayton is the author of Legal Aspects of Engineering, 9th Edition published by Kendall Hunt in 2012 and is working on the 10th Edition to be released in the Fall 2016. Finally, she is the author of several articles published by VINE: The Journal of Information Knowledge Management Systems, including: "Commercial satellite imagery: CI, KM, and trade secret law," Vol. 37, no.2, 2007; "Beyond Terrorism: Data Collection and Responsibility for Privacy," Vol. 36, no. 4, 2006; "and Alexandria Burned Securing Knowledge Access in the Age of Google," Vol. 36, no. 2, 2006.

Online Meeting Information

Meeting times can vary and will be scheduled with the instructor. During the six weeks of online training, instructors will meet collectively with students either one or two hours per week. Instructors are available to provide student guidance, direction and advice on relatively short notice.

Courses greater than $300.00, but less than $500.00, the cancellation fee is $75.00.
